The Collection Agency Industry's "Publisher of Record"
First Detroit Corporation, internationally known publisher and researcher in the field of debt collection and related credit subjects, was established in 1988 by Albert W. Scace, the
firm's President & Editor-in-Chief.
During its first decade, First Detroit established a worldwide reputation of providing collection agencies, bad debt buyers, credit bureaus, creditors and debt industry vendors with
valuable and heretofore unobtainable industry information.
In 1990, when First Detroit launched the monthly newsletter Collection Agency Report, it was the only news publication that covered the collection industry.
Building on that success, First Detroit launched the annual Collection Agency Directory
in 1991. As with our first publication, it was again the original collection industry Directory, providing creditor's and collection industry executives with extensive data on individual collection agencies.
Over the years, First Detroit introduced several special reports covering the important collection agency topics of Mergers & Acquisitions and Regulatory Enforcement Actions.
Today, First Detroit stands alone as the unparalleled provider
of extensive financially oriented debt collection agency information, collection agency resources and debt collection statistics. We have more than 2,000 satisfied customers. The Debt Collection Database
continues to expand on its acknowledged status as the debt collection industry's "expert source of information on individual firms."
First Detroit continues to operate as a privately held corporation under the operational leadership of Patricia A. Herrick, a 18 year credit & collection industry publishing veteran.
First Detroit is headquartered in the United States with its principal offices located in Madison Heights, Michigan, a Detroit suburb.
